In honor of National Doughnut Day I thought it would be fun to check out some of the different doughnuts around the world. Its a fun way to teach about and exploring other countries and cultures from home. Let the children locate the countries on a map and decide together which recipe you want to make or make several to host a doughnut tasting party!!! Happy Doughnut Frying!!!
In honor of Kentucky Derby we decided to spend the week studying on the State of Kentucky and the History of the Derby. We have been living in Louisville Ky for the past 2 years and have fallen in love with springtime in this beautiful state.The warm breeze, blossoms on the trees, and of course we can’t forget the Kentucky Derby! If you can only visit Louisville one time then you would want to choose Spring. With the Kentucky Derby fast approaching the Kentucky Derby Festival is in full swing for 2 weeks prior with Thunder Over Louisville kicking off the Kentucky Derby Festival. Thunder Over Louisville is an airshow and fireworks display held in mid April in Louisville, Kentucky. It is the largest annual fireworks display in North America and has been held since 1990.
